Hi all,
Is anyone out there working on Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) module development
for NS3?
I am a PhD student and looking to make contribution in case someone is
already developing the module (to save time and effort at my end).
I have been told by the someone at CTTC that currently there are people at
University of Pisa working in this field. I was wondering if I can get in
contact with them through this group.
Thank you in advance for any information you might provide. I apologize if
I am posting in the wrong place, if so please let me know where I should
post this inquiry.

Hi Zubair,

I don't know about Pisa, but few (in Florence) are working on it.
We'll do a page on ns-3 wiki soon. In the meantime you can safely write me
or Samuele about it.

Cheers,

T.

Hello,

Do any of you know about the progress of work on NBIoT support in NS3? When
it is expected to complete? Actually I did some work on NBIoT in the past
and I am keen to explore it in NS3 in future as well. Also if the work is
still in progress, I would appreciate if I can also collaborate to some
extent in enabling its support in LENA.

Thanks

Hi Thomas,

I can't promise right now about the timeline but I can't push the changes
within next 2-3 months.

Hi Ashish,
thanks for the update ... few months back i was working on it as well but
couldn't keep it going due to other work, now i'm back ...
it would be good if you update it once you finish implementation ... if
possible can u give some rough timeline?
Cheers
Hi,
Yes, we at Belgium are working on NB-IoT module. We are implementing PSM,
DRX features and couple of others. But right now the code needs to be
merged (which will definitely take some time).

Hi,

I have checkout code from https://github.com/TommyPec/ns-3-dev-NB-IOT.git

I enable the NB-IoT variable 'm_EnabledNbIot' and executed lena-simple.cc
for 5sec. I got following errors:

assert failed. cond="cellId == msg.cellAccessRelatedInfo.cellIdentity",
msg="Cell identity in SIB1-NB does not match with the originating cell",
file=../src/lte/model/lte-ue-rrc.cc, line=991

terminate called without an active exception

If I run the code for 1 sec, it executes completely fine. I don't know if
the code is check-in with the sanity check. Do anyone have any comment on
this?

Thanks,

Ashish
